Vegan Malfouf – Stuffed Cabbage Recipe

Vegan Malfouf – Stuffed Cabbage Recipe

I challenged myself with vegan-izing my mom’s famous Lebanese recipe for malfouf (stuffed cabbage).

This cabbage dish is traditionally stuffed with meat and rice.
I used TVP (textured vegetable protein which is made of defatted soy flour) instead of meat and kept the rest of the recipe the same (rice, allspice, cinnamon, mint, garlic, lemon, salt, and pepper).

It passed the non-vegetarian husband test with flying colors… phew! I even had my six-year-old son help me roll them. The rule is that he can be my little chef sidekick as long as he tastes everything we make. 😊
